Stafford Veterinary Hospital in Manahawkin employs five veterinarians and 35 auxiliary personnel. Our staff and doctors work as a professional team to give the best veterinary care possible.


Dr. Ronald F. Hurley, VMD
Dr. Ronald F. Hurley, VMD
Medical Director
Dr. Hurley earned his BS from Lafayette College in 1969 and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1973. He joined SVH after graduation, where he has been in practice ever since. When not at SVH, Dr. Hurley enjoys coaching soccer and restoring cars.
Dr. Gary van den Broek, VMD

Dr. Gary van den Broek is a graduate of Bucknell University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. A practitioner at SVH since 1983, Dr. van den Broek is not afraid to get down to eye level with a pet to make everyone feel at ease during a visit.
Dr. Robert Zerbe, VMD

Dr. Zerbe received his undergraduate degree from Penn State and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He spends his spare time enjoying the seashore environment and an occasional round of golf.
Dr. Sandra McBee, DVM
Dr. Sandra McBee, DVM
Dr. McBee is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University. While in Oklahoma, she spent time volunteering - including teaching anatomy to children and working on a community spay/neuter program. Dr. McBee has been riding and training horses since grammar school, participating in a number of equestrian events during middle school, high school and college. She currently owns two horses, a dog, a cat and a snake. During her free time she enjoys trail riding, walking her dog, going to the beach and cooking.
Dr. Donald Force, VMD

Dr. Force is a '96 University of Pennsylvania graduate (and Brooklyn native) who has worked at a veterinary emergency hospital for the majority of his career. He has a strong interest in surgery and is greatly looking forward to getting back to his roots of general practice. Dr. Force is an avid runner, likes cycling and motorcycles but the loves of his life are his 2 sons Matthew Elvis and Stephen Aaron Force.

The technical department at Stafford Veterinary Hospital is staffed to provide the best possible care to our patients. Our technicians have diverse backgrounds and interests. All are commited to uphold high standards of patient care and client communication. The role of the technical staff is to provide compassionate nursing care and emergency care to our patients.

Client Care Specialists
Greeting you at the front desk, answering telephones, making up medications, responding to your requests - customer service at our hospital and clinics comes second only to the care our patients receive. Our client care specialists are knowledgeable and caring towards our clients and their pets. We always treat both with respect and compassion. We understand that coming to the hospital can be a frightening experience for your pet, so our client care specialists take the time to make sure your pet is at ease in these surroundings. We are always happy to answer questions.

Our quality care staff is always available to make sure that the care you and your pet receive with our doctors and staff is continued both before, during and after your visit with detailed accurate medical records. They also handle the organization of special procedures, client estimates, and individual care requests. Nothing is ever too complicated for your Quality Care Team to figure out and communicate.
